I am a tax writer/editor with LexisNexis UK, editor of Tolley’s Practical Tax newsletter and a contributor to the Tax Journal.

My long career in tax began in the Inland Revenue (now HM Revenue and Customs) and I have worked for large and small firms of accountants, specialising in personal and small business taxes.

I have also worked as an independent tax consultant to smaller firms.

I am a non-practising member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a member of the National Union of Journalists.

I am a schools volunteer for Cafod, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development: www.cafod.org.uk.
